Greetings Fellow Swampers!
The Camp Swamp staff is excited to welcome you and your sons or grandsons to our Mother Son Retreat beginning Friday, March 28 through Sunday March 30. We currently have 44 registrants for this wonderful time we have been planning for moms and their sons. We look forward to seeing everyone soon!
We are planning to eat some delicious food and enjoy some FUN activities together (board/card games, corn hole, ping pong, pavilion games, Just Dance, canteen time, Hungry Hungry Humans, Crazy Carts and S’Mores. Nancy Goodwin and her adult sons Phil and Stephen, who grew up at camp, will be leading a devotional for the moms on Saturday morning.
A few Reminders:
- Check in begins at 6 pm Friday, March 28 in the Dining Hall.
- DINNER IS NOT PROVIDED Friday evening.
- Welcome and activities will begin at 8 pm.
- It’s a good idea to check the weather for the weekend. This will help you with what to wear. You will be indoors and outdoors throughout the day. Wear closed toed shoes for walking the property.
- Snack Shack/Canteen will be open so have some cash in hand to be able to purchase some yummy drinks/treats and candies. Items range from $0.25 – $2.00.
- The boys will stay in the boys’ cabins with our boy counselors. The moms will stay in the girls’ cabins. Because you are staying in different parts of camp, pack mom’s bedding, toiletries and clothes separate from your sons bedding, toiletries and clothes.
- A journal and/or your bible is optional. Water bottles highly recommended.
- Phone Free Space: We encourage you to take a break from your phone to give your son your undivided attention. We will have a photographer available to take photos to capture your time together.
Mother-Son Retreat: Connection

As we prepare our hearts for our upcoming weekend together, we encourage you to focus on connection. As life gets busier, we recognize the need for and importance of intentional times such as these where you can get away from distractions and just be together. We invite you to set your phone aside, to enjoy not planning and serving the meals, and find ways to connect with your son through play, laughter, and conversation. Join us in praying for God’s Spirit to move through every aspect of this upcoming weekend. Be ready for an amazing time of connection and FUN!
